Netflix CLO makes $15.4M: how does that compare to other C-suite execs?
- On April 27, 2026
David Hyman is one of the highest paid CLOs at $15.4M with a $2M base (even though his comp dropped 11% from the year before). So I know most of us won’t see pay like that, but what can we take away?
- In-house lawyers are never paid as much as the CEO. Netflix’s CLO makes about 30% of his co-CEO’s ($53+M). That percentage is not too far off the average GC to CEO pay of 24.3% per Equilar.
- CFOs usually make more than the CLO/GC, and that’s the case at Netflix, whose CLO makes about 75% of the CFO’s pay ($20.8M).
- But here we see the CLO making more than the Chief Global Affairs Officer ($14.3M). What does a CGAO do? It typically manages international reputation, public policy, regulatory strategy, and geopolitical risk and merges communication, government affairs, and regulatory issues.
