Why You Should Job Hunt Through the Holidays

Yes, recruiting slows to a trickle between Christmas and New Year, but here are 3 reasons to keep at it: 

1. You have time! Lawyers notoriously put down their heads and claim they have no time to think about their career. Well, now is the season to self-assess. See where you are versus where you want to go, what skills you need for that, and what companies you’re interested in.
2. Network at holiday events. Bar associations, industry organizations, and affinity groups are all getting together now. Meet people at the companies you are targeting.
3. Connect with old friends and acquaintances. Now is the perfect time to send a holiday note (do NOT say you’d like their help with a job search as the opening salvo).
