Job Search

What to Do During Summer Slowdown

  • On June 5, 2016

Should you embark on a comprehensive job search now? No, summer is generally slow for recruiting, and the number of offers made in the summer is drastically lower than other times of the year.

Focus instead on these 5 things:

  1. Develop your executive presence. Being a lawyer is more than knowing the law — it’s also about communicating effectively with clients.
  2. Update your resume with the right metrics, formatting, and keywords.
  3. Complete your LinkedIn profile (yes, that means add a picture).
  4. Research the industries and employers you are interested in.
  5. Grow contacts to get you to the job you want.
  6.

If the economy holds, hiring should pick up in the fall.
