Is your Linkedin profile helping you? An easy way to tell

  • On February 17, 2026

Because our job is to minimize risk and avoid notice by regulators, lawyers generally have unmemorable LinkedIn profiles. But did you know that prospective employers check out your profile? To increase your odds of landing the job you want, your profile should lay out your top skills and make clear your career trajectory.

But this is where lawyers get stuck. They either write too much (lede is buried) or too little (what is their practice area??).

An easy solution: use this handy profiler app built by a Turing exec that reviews your profile and gives solid tips to make it better!

I tested it out and agreed with everything it said about mine, from the good (“you write like someone who actually lives in the trenches of your industry” and “you’re the go-to source for Bay Area legal market intel”) to the bad (“add your origin story” andĀ  “quantify your impact”).

You’re reviewing content all the time. Do it for yourself!
